Updated 6/25/2018 – Divy Closes for Consumers: Divy has turned its primary focus from consumer-clients to serving other broker-dealers and new businesses in the investing space, so they will no longer be able to maintain their direct-to-consumer offering and will be closing all client brokerage accounts by June 15, 2018.
Divy provides you with intuitive search technology to help you discover new investment ideas based on your existing knowledge of the world, such as artificial intelligence, self-driving cars, healthy living, solar power, or any other investing ideas that you wish to explore.
Divy also gives you the ability to buy any stocks or ETFs in fractional shares for as little as $10, starting with commissions as low as 10 cents, so share prices won’t hinder your investing capacity.
You can use Divy to build a diversified portfolio by allocating your available investment funds however you see fit to minimize your risk and achieve long-term financial goals.
Plus, you can get a $10 Free Credit to use toward your first stock purchase when you sign up for Divy Beta Program Access, and you’ll receive Commission-Free Trades during the entire Beta period.
EXPIRED – How To Get $10 Free Divy Investing Credit
Updated 1/8/2018 – $10 Credit Offer Expired: Please note that the $10 free credit offer has expired. I will update this page when/if a new bonus incentive becomes available for new Divy customers.
Divy has been kind enough to provide Maximizing Money readers with an exclusive access code to get a free $10 credit to use toward your first stock purchase from Divy Equities.
In order to get your $10 free credit, you must enter the Promo Code “MAXDIVY” upon sign-up when you request access to your Divy Beta account at Divy.com/get-access or in the Divy App (iOS only with Android coming soon).
After you gain access to Divy, you must then open a Divy Equities investment account within the Divy App, so there is a 2-step sign-up process.
When you use this exclusive code, you will receive a $10 free credit when you open an investment account on the Divy App.
It may take up to 2 business days to see the $10 credit appear, and you’ll see it under the “Buying Power” section of the app within your “Account Summary.”
You can then use the $10 free credit toward your first stock purchase from Divy Equities.
The Promo Code “MAXDIVY” is a combination of the names Maximizing Money and Divy, which was created exclusively for Maximizing Money readers.
This promo code has 1,000 uses available for the first 1,000 readers to open a new Divy account (still available as of March 2, 2017).
Please do not repost this exclusive promo code on other websites or forums, but you may feel free to provide a link back to this article, so that others may discover the code.

About the Divy App and Divy Equities Investment Account
Divy and Divy Equities are separate but affiliated companies.
Divy is a provider of interface solutions and technology services to broker-dealers.
Divy Equities is an FINRA-approved broker-dealer, registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC).
All securities and investments are currently offered by the Divy Equities individual brokerage account, which can be accessed through the Divy App or on the Divy website (limited access available on website).
Divy Equities currently only provides Individual Cash Accounts that are offered by Apex Clearing for the Divy platform to purchase stocks and ETFs, but they plan on offering custodial accounts, the ability to purchase Mutual Funds, and the ability to set up your own Individual Retirement Account (IRA) in the future.
Divy is only available in the U.S. to individuals 18 years or older who are legal U.S. residents or U.S. citizens (with a permanent U.S. address), although they plan on expanding internationally in the future.
The Divy app and Divy.com website are available to all Divy members and do not require a brokerage account for use, but to meet certain regulatory obligations should you decide to open an Apex Clearing brokerage account, you will be asked to provide some information about yourself, such as your social security number, banking information, and employment history.
Adding Funds to Divy Equities Account
Once you open your Divy Equities brokerage account, you can add funds via an ACH deposit from your bank account (takes 1-2 business days) or via a debit card deposit (immediate).
There are no fees when depositing funds from your linked bank account (ACH), and during the Divy Beta Program, there is no fee tied to debit card deposits, but there will be a debit card deposit fee in the future.
Your funds are deposited in a brokerage account in your name at Apex Clearing Corporation (Apex), and Divy Equities clears through the Apex Clearing firm based out of Dallas, Texas.
No Commission Charges during Divy Beta Program
During the Divy Beta Program, Apex Clearing will not be charging commissions on trades.
However, once the Beta program is completed, commissions on window trades will be 1%, $0.10 on a $10 single stock transaction, capped at $1 on a single stock transaction of $100 and more.
So when you sign up during the Beta Program, you’ll not only get a $10 free credit to make your first trade, but you will not pay any commission charges throughout the entire Beta period.
Minimum Stock Purchases and Fractional Shares
The minimum amount to purchase stock is $10, and there is no maximum.
You can only buy stock in $10 increments, but there is no limit as to how many units of $10 you can purchase.
A fractional share (also known as partial shares) is a portion of an equity that is not equal to a full share.
As a fractional share owner, you will receive the same dividend and tax liability rights proportionally to a full share owner of that same share class.
Some companies provide fractional voting rights proportional to ownership whereas other companies only provide voting rights based on full share ownership.
My Personal Experiences with Divy
I signed up to become a Divy Beta user on their website, and I received access via an email notification less than an hour after my request.
I then logged in to the Divy App for iOS and opened a Divy Equities brokerage account through the app.
The entire process was extremely simple to do, and there were no long delays or waiting in digital lines to gain access.
After I opened my investing account, my $10 free credit was deposited into my account about 2 days after opening.
I was then able to use my $10 credit to purchase my first stock in the Divy App without a problem.
The Divy App itself is very intuitive and easy to use.
It’s really simple to search for stocks based on a plethora of criteria, such as your personal interests or current events.
Plus, the information provided about each stock is concise and easy to digest, so that you can quickly review and determine your stock picks.
I have had absolutely no issues with the Divy App itself, and the Divy Equities brokerage account makes it extremely convenient to invest in stocks and ETFs.
Divy is especially good for beginner investors or those with limited budgets, since you can purchase fractional shares of stocks and not have to worry about how many shares you can afford for any given stock.
Considering how easy it is to use, the free $10 credit that is available to new users, and no commission charges during the Beta period, Divy is a great option for those looking to diversify your investment portfolios and make investing on the go easy with the Divy mobile app.
